What is needed to create the catalogue

Source data

  • existing product data, for example from ERP, PIM, Excel, CSV or another catalogue
  • unique article identifiers and relevant master data

Target and handover

  • desired BMEcat version and transaction
  • recipient specifications, where available

Scope and prerequisites

  • required prices, units, media, classifications and references
  • desired deliverables and acceptance criteria

Next in the established process

  1. You receive an individual offer specifying the result, scope and acceptance criteria.
  2. After acceptance, the data is transferred securely and processed.
  3. The agreed catalogue is technically validated and made available.

How the scope is determined

The work required depends on your source data, the BMEcat version and the recipient’s specifications. Before an offer, we clarify the article volume, media, classifications and missing content in particular. These determine the scope and price.

Agreed limits

  • no automatic addition of missing product information
  • no recipient certification without explicit agreement
  • no ongoing updates without a managed service contract
  • no system integration without a separate technical project
  • no guarantee for requirements that were not provided in advance

FAQ

Can excodata create a BMEcat catalogue from Excel?

A structured data source may be suitable in principle. The preliminary assessment determines whether its fields, values and relationships are sufficient.

Which BMEcat versions are supported?

We create catalogues in BMEcat 1.2 and BMEcat 2005, as well as BMEcat 2005 following the ETIM guideline. We agree the specific target version and your recipient’s requirements with you before creation.

Are subsequent updates included?

Recurring updates and catalogue deliveries can be agreed additionally as a managed service. They are not part of the one-off creation assignment.
